What A Day

I'm not usually a big fan of the "This Day In History" thing, but I happened to hear a couple things on the radio today, and today's date is starting to seem particularly significant. Or at least significant enough for a blog post.

On October 3rd, fifteen years ago, the Berlin wall came down.

Ten years ago today, O.J. Simpson was found not guilty of murdering his wife. He's been looking for the real killer ever since. Oh, and check out how he celebrated the tenth anniversary of this particular triumph of the American legal system.

Thirteen years ago, Sinead O'Connor ripped up a picture of the pope on Saturday Night Live, pretty much ending her career.

And two years ago today Roy of Siegfried & Roy was mauled onstage by his tiger.

All in all, it just seems like a weird day. St. Francis of Assisi died on this day. The guy who founded Mad magazine was born. So were Stevie Ray Vaughan and Tommy Lee. I know you can look up just about any day you want and find a bunch of cool stuff about it, but this seemed to me like a good one. If you disagree, give me something better to write about.
