NBA Round-up

This isn't normally a sports-related blog. But then again this isn't normally an anything-related blog. If you're not into sports, you need not read.

Derek Fisher is a point guard for the Utah Jazz, who tonight go into Game 3 of their 2nd round best-of-seven series up 2-0. On the day of Game 2, his 10-month-old daughter had a tumor removed from between her eye and her brain. Not knowing if his daughter would even survive the surgery, he told the team he wouldn't play that night. The surgery went well, and he made it to the arena in time to play in the fourth quarter, then scored five key points in overtime. Great story. Minnesota Timerwolf Mark Madsen is a former teammate of Fisher's, and gushes profusely about how great a player and person he is on his blog.

Amare Stoudamire is in the news for saying Bruce Bowen is a dirty player. Expect Steve Nash to be the focus of major media attention next week when he asserts that the sky is blue.

Chicago has folded like a paper sack holding 7-2 off suit at the final table of the WSOP. Flip Saunders has the Pistons playing amazingly well, but the Cavs don't look half bad either. I predict both conference finals will be a lot tighter and more entertaining than you think.
