Good News

Alicia's cat scan was normal!

That's really all we know. We weren't expecting to hear anything back today, but a nurse called Michelle in the afternoon to report that it was normal.

That means she doesn't need surgery, which of course we are ecstatic about. But beyond that, we're still waiting to hear from Alicia's doctor. How normal is normal? Is this something that will need to be checked periodically? Could she still need surgery in the future? And if everything is good, will her head eventually be more round, like a true Fuller head?

These are the questions for which we are still awaiting answers. And there are more. Alicia's doctor wanted to have her lungs scanned as well as her head, but Alicia wouldn't hold still because she was so hungry (cf. previous post), so Michelle ended up feeding her so they could do her head. But with food in her stomach, they couldn't do her lungs. So on Friday they will try again, but this time the doctor has given the order for her to be sedated. They couldn't do that today because they didn't have the doctor's order.

So Friday will be a crazy day for Michelle and her babe, getting a physical in St Louis Park in the morning to make sure she's healthy enough to be sedated, then trekking out to Minnetonka to get another cat scan after another three hours of fasting. Not fun.

But today is a good day. A Normal day.

Josh & Michelle-

That's great news about Alicia's test result. I'm hoping that the one on Friday will also come back with good news.

We've got to get together soon: a Lake Calhoun picnic?
