This is just bizarre. Crazy. However I thought it was going to happen, I didn't quite imagine something like this.
Today the doctor told Michelle, "if she gains weight tonight, she can go home tomorrow." Simple as that.
It appeals to me, in a way. One simple measurement, one number, will make the decision for us, at least for tomorrow. This will make no sense to any of you, but to me it feels like a computer program. Months and months of struggle, problem upon problem, a million fine adjustments, like dozens of classes with hundreds of methods written to handle a thousand different scenarios, all coming down to one if-then-else. How surreal.
The nurse tonight is Michelle's absolute favorite, so if it depends on somebody getting her to eat, we're in good hands.
Alicia wasn't taking full bottles today, so the odds may not be in our favor. But really, it's just fun to be talking about the possibility of tomorrow.
