Memorial Day Camping

This year's trip to Gooseberry Falls might've been the best yet. The weather was pretty chilly, but we were more prepared for it this time. We hardly got rained on at all.

The last time we tried this was over the Labor Day weekend last year. Toby was at an age where he needed constant supervision, and Alicia still needed to be held at all times. Nowadays, Alicia can roam free (under constant supervision) and Toby just requires an occasional locating glance. More time for Mom & Dad to relax a little.

There were plenty of highlights, from a lovely hike on Superior Trail to riding bikes down stairs, and Toby kept the Tobyisms coming all weekend. He especially got a kick out of the outhouse. Upon one use, he looked around at the sparse furnishings and declared, "Dada, there's going to be a sink in here soon." In fact, he was so sure that the next day he reminded me, "There's almost a sink in here now."

Looks like it was heaps of fun. I can't believe how cold it looks in May! It's starting to get a bit chilly here now too...as we're moving into winter. I have to wear long pants and sometimes even a light jacket (only for the early morning or evening, never for the whole day.) :) ah well...enjoy your spring!!
