French Immersion!!
Trying to register Toby for French Immersion in Canada was a crazy process. I don't remember if we blogged about it before. In the States, you would just mail in your form, then hope that a lottery-style pulling of names was in your favor. For the Surrey school district, we had to call in, with our calling card, and hope we got a line. Then they call you back in a week and tell you if you got in or are on the waiting list. We were just amazed they let us get on the list at all since we don't live in the country yet. So, Toby was number 30. The school said that number 30 usually doesn't get in, but maybe next year. Perhaps this year a family of sextuplets decided to pull them, because Toby is in! This will mean that Toby will have a 15 minute drive to school instead of walking around the block. But he's a pretty good driver, so that shouldn't be a problem. Oh, what fun! Just to brag, Google maps recommends a route to school that takes us along the ocean. I had been bragging that the class Toby was enrolled in had only 13 kids. This immersion classroom will have 22. Still, that sure beats the 30 kindergartners per class in this MN school district!
So. Fun times.
